Good Nutrition: Learn To Love Your Body!

February 10, 2014

Figuring out how to eat nutritiously can improve your life immensely. There is a lot of advice from nutrition professionals that can easily be integrated into your life. Proteins are very valuable nutrients to consume each week. You can choose from options like seafood, poultry without skin and lean meats. Eggs are another wonderful source of protein. Research has shown that an egg every day does not affect health negatively. Be sure to enjoy a meatless day once weekly. Instead, choose non-animal sources, like nuts, seeds, legumes, beans, peas and peanut butter. Don't eat microwave dinners if you're pursuing nutrition. These meals typically contain heavy amounts of salt and sugar. Prepare your own meals from fresh produce and lean meats for the most nutritious fare. When in a restaurant, consider splitting your portions with someone else. Even healthy options are generally served in huge portions, thus, bringing excessive fat and calories. Splitting a meal not only saves you calories, it saves money too. Doing this means you can dine out without ruining your diet plan.

800 Calories

Focus on nutrition, and on using healthy food as fuel for your body. You'll feel much better if you consume 1,800 calories in the form of whole grains, proteins, and vegetables, than if you decide to consume 1,800 calories in the form of sugar from snacks and treats. It's not just how much food you eat that is important, it is also the types of food you eat. One very easy tip for maintaining good health is to simply limit sugar intake at all times. It is a misconception to most people that taking in fruit juices work as good substitutes for soda. This is often a misconception since many fruit juices have higher amounts of sugar then the sodas. Because of this, it is important to carefully read product labels to avoid consuming foods that don't offer much in the way of nutritional value. Allow your kids to help pick foods when shopping for groceries. Let them choose which fruits and vegetables they want to eat. Kids may even be attracted to colorful new produce they've never tried before.

Fruit Juices

If you don't like to prepare raw veggies and fruits, some fruit juices can be good substitutes. By drinking fruit juices, you get your daily supply of minerals and vitamins without the hassle of preparing your fruits and veggies. To avoid tooth decay, it is recommended that you drink fruit juices through a straw. Choose baked foods over fried foods. Baked foods seem to be better because they are automatically less full of oils, carbs, and calories. Also, they won't zap your energy throughout the day the way fried foods are apt to do. Whether you need to beat illness, improve your appearance, or lose weight, changing what you drink and eat can really change your life. When you are properly following good nutrition, your body can do most anything you need it to. Jane Segal is the Advertising and Marketing Research Analyst for Salvere Health.
